Help Feed The Kids
Centro Fe y Alegria Espiritu Santo (Faith & Joy Holy Spirit Center - a school to help children build a future of hope) located in El Cruce de Arroyo Hondo, Dominican Republic
We are a Christian missionary school in a rural and poor section of this Caribbean nation. Our goal is to bring quality education and social transformation based on Christian Values. The school is part of the Fe y Alegria Movement which supports education for poor communities in Latin America Centro Fe achieves this goal only with charitable financial support from people like you. We need money for everything (books, supplies, etc.) , but here we only seek money to feed the children while they attend class. Every school day we serve 1550 meals split between breakfast and lunch. Meals consist mostly of eggs, semolina, soup, vitamins, and a protein drink. Our annual costs for these food items comes to around $33,500 and initial projections suggest that we may be short in contributions received to the tune of $7,000 to $10,000. Every year we work hard to raise this money so the teaching work can be done. A hungry child will pay more attention to his belly than to his lessons. We don't want to cut back on feeding the children because of a shortfall of funds. Any contribution will help. We would love a check for $5, $10, $25, $100 - It's all good, and deductible on your tax return. You should make your check payable to "Adrian Dominican Sisters" the check memo should read "for Sister Basilia De La Cruz, Centro Fe Y Alegria". You can mail the check to: Don Ladolcetta, CPA 12000 NW 20th St Pembroke Pines, Fl. 33026

Below are photos of the school children eating the meals funded/subsidized by the contributors for this good cause. The School has no windows, no doors, no black boards, limited textbooks and very little paper, but this has not stopped them from giving the children a great education.
