The link below is the family tree for the Cheffer family as it relates to my wife - Patricia Cheffer Ladolcetta. The Cheffer family hails from St. Anne's Illinois. The name was originally Cheffre and they migrated from St. Anne De Beupre, Quebec, Canada after many years there going back to the 1600s. The Cheffers were forced to migrate from Canada as a result of religious persecution after having converted to the Lutheran religion. They followed their Lutheran leaders to St Anne's Illinois where they found religious freedom. The mother of the family that came from Quebec was a Cherokee Indian. Once the family settled in, they became Gladiola farmers and later owned a trucking and construction business.
